Trials on lab or pilot scale machines are an
important activity at COMBER.
Test units of all COMBER machine types
are available either as lab or pilot machines.
Trials are made primarily to:
Test and evaluate new methods to improve and optimize existing machine types as well as for the defining of specifications for
machines to be developed.
Testing and fine tuning of process
parameters to verify the correctness of any
machine performance guarantees
issued to
customers.

Besides the testing of process related aspects additional services are available.

Comparative trials with different machine    types to determine the machine best suited     for a given application.
Verification of machine sizing ( scale-up ). The machine size required can be calculated on the basis of lab trials using computer programs in combination with extensive experience.
Pre-validation. Based on preliminary trials process and manufacturing requirements can be defined and form the basis for the validation of the production machine. Complete recording and documentation of all test parameters during the trial is imperative.
Peripheral services, such as the requisition of raw material for the trials as well as their orderly disposal after the trial. Such services form an integral part of such trials, in particular if trials are to be made with hazardous, toxic or otherwise dangerous products.
Job productions on a limited scale on request.
