COMBER machines can be equipped with microwave drying systems within the framework of a co-operation agreement with Pro-C-epT, Belgium.

Pro-C-epT has well over 10 years of experience in the industrial use of microwaves for heating and drying processes. The use of microwave technology substantially shortens the cycle times of filter dryers and/or vacuum dryers, the long cycle times having been a disadvantage. Today different machines are used in the pharmaceutical, fine chemicals, chemical, dyestuff and food industries for individual processes. The use of numerous machines entails the relevant capital investment and operating costs while the repeated product handling involves certain risks.

For some years now certain processes are being combined with the use of microwaves, e.g. in granulators, mixers, fluid bed dryers, etc., and now also in filter dryers and vacuum dryers.

Pro-C-epT has completed the development of the microwave technology for use in drying. The exclusive co-operation agreement with Pro-C-epT permits COMBER to offer its customers this new drying technology in filter dryers and vacuum dryers as well as in pilot sized machines.
